NICK RADO BIO

Nick Rado stands out in the comedy world as a six-time winner of the Best Comedy MC title at the NZ Comedy Guild Awards and as the Best Male Comedian of 2019. His exceptional talent has taken him to the prestigious Just for Laughs Sydney showcase at the Sydney Opera House, and he has had the honour of opening for renowned comedians like Nate Bargatze, Rob Brydon, Aziz Ansari, and Russell Howard on their global tours.

 

Numerous accolades, including several Sony Awards, have marked Nick Rado's broadcasting career; he has served as the Executive Producer for the popular Heart Breakfast with Emma Bunton and Jamie Theakston in London. Currently, he hosts the highly acclaimed podcasts 'Socrates Walks into a Bar' and 'Sporting Rumble,' both of which won Gold at the NZ Podcast Awards for Best Comedy and Best Sports Podcast, respectively, in 2022 and 2023. His radio shows include The Rock's Saturday Morning Breakfast and More FM Rodney's Breakfast.

 

Nick's screen presence is substantial, with numerous TV comedy appearances on The Comedy Channel Australia, The Nightwatchmen, Narrow World of Sports for Fox Sports Australia, and comedy galas on TVNZ and TV3. He also acted in Rhys Darby's Netflix sitcom, Short Poppies.

From 2014 to 2021, Nick excelled as the head writer for TV3's award-winning news comedy show, 7 Days, penning over 300 episodes. His comedic influence extends across America on Sirius XM's Laugh USA and Comedy Greats channels, and he is the first Kiwi comic to record a US comedy special for Drybar, which boasts over 8 million followers. His debut album, On-Trend, reached number 4 on iTunes' albums chart.

Nick also wrote and starred In a short film called Mission I'm Possible, a movie about a motivational speaker who had to move back with his parents; the short film has garnered international acclaim, with the following recognitions:
